General Discussion • Interfacing with Media Players

I'd prefer this to play iTunes library but wouldn't mind switching it to Pandora now and again as I see fit.
According to the manual, iTunes 10.2 should be supported by the NowPlaying plugin:
https://docs.rainmeter.net/manual/measures/nowplaying/#playerlist
Now, I didn't use iTunes (I'm a happy Winamp user since forever), so I'm not sure if this means that the current version of iTunes is supported, or whether iTunes still has a desktop / local application nowadays (which is a must when it comes to NowPlaying). I've also seen reports that WebNowPlaying works with Pandora, so I see 3 options here, when it comes to setting up the variables in your [SkinsFolder]\LCARS SYSTEM 3\@Resources\Settings.inc file:

- you use iTunes 10.2 desktop application or similar:

Code:

PlayerPlugin=NowPlaying.dllPlayer=iTunes
- you use Pandora:

Code:

PlayerPlugin=WebNowPlaying.dllPlayer=Pandora
- you use some sort of iTunes online system:

Code:

PlayerPlugin=WebNowPlaying.dllPlayer=iTunes
One very important detail in making the players that are supported by WebNowPlaying work is to also install its browser extension, in addition to its plugin (details on the plugin's original post). You don't have to worry about installing the plugin if you installed the Lcars 3, since the said skin automatically copies the WebNowPlaying plugin in the right places on its installation.
I have tried copying and pasting the example code into config according to instructions I found elsewhere from the link below but it doesn't work, obviously because there is something I am missing about how to do it properly.
Yeah, it's not always going to work like that, because although the syntax of various measures and meters might be largely the same, the skins themselves are different from one another. It's like trying to use the wheel of a bicycle for a car, really.
@Everyone:
No idea why the image links are getting stripped. They work in Preview. Is anyone able to see them? Maybe it's my browser. :confused:
No, we can't directly see them, but we can right click them and "open image in a new tab". I've edited your post so that they are visible now. The key in doing that for online images, is to actually right click on them or use the buttons of the sharing site you uploaded them to get to the "real" image address, which must end in an image extension (.jpg, .png, and such). What you had was a regular link and not the original address of the image (check the edited links and compare to your earlier ones to understand the idea).
